The Gloucestershire Oracle is fully optimised for high placement in search engine rankings for
Gloucestershire searches. Most of our site visitors have come via a search engine for a Gloucestershire-based business, organisation or club. Be in the Spotlight!
Our Section Home Pages (ie Kids Activities, Adult Leisure, Parties, Weddings etc) are the gateway pages where visitors
go to view and select from the categories available. These pages will also feature links to
articles relevant to that Section. Spotlight features will consist of a
business's static entry description with more details and website
link. Spotlight features are limited to not more than five in each Section
at any one time, and are available on a first-come first-served basis.
Businesses are advised to book early to secure a spot at popular times.
In addition to appearing in the Section Home Page Spotlight, the featured
business will also appear in the Gloucestershire Oracle Home Page Spotlight
feature, on a rotation basis, together with other businesses appearing in
individual Section Spotlights.
Please note that your business must qualify for the free listing in the Section
before you can take out a Spotlight promotion. If you want to advertise your business in
a Section that you do not feature, then you should purchase a Skyscraper advert.
Cost: just £30 per month.
Skyscraper Advertising
We offer skyscraper advertisements which appear on every page within a
Section of your choice, eg leisure, parties or weddings. These adverts are ideal for
promoting your business to visitors browsing a different category of our site!
The size of the vertical banner is 120x240 pixels, see right for actual
size. The adverts are linked to your website - either the home page or to a
page which carries more information about a particular event or special
offer you want to promote.
Cost: £50 per Section per month, discounts are available for multiple
Sections.
We can design the artwork for a one-off fee of £30 (client to supply
wording and suitable picture/logo). Free artwork design if advertising in more than one Section.
The Oracle Banner Advertisement
Our premium advertising space is The Oracle Banner, which appears on the
top right of every page on the website. It has been scientifically proven that website
visitors look at this location first!
The size of the Banner is 485 x 70 pixels, and is linked to your
website home page or special promotion page either here on The
Gloucestershire Oracle, or your website depending on your requirements.
To make this banner affordable, it is available on a weekly basis -
ideal for a one-off event for example.
Cost: £50 per week (seven days Mon-Sun).
We can design the artwork for a one-off fee of £30 (client to supply
wording and suitable picture/logo).
Ordering a Skyscraper or The Banner Advertisement
Please send us either a suitable static skyscraper advertisement (size 120
pixels wide x 240 pixels, in jpeg format) or static banner advertisement (468
pixels wide x 60 pixels high, jpeg format) for inclusion on the site.
Alternatively, please supply the necessary information so that we can
arrange for one to be designed for you and a proof will be sent to you for
approval. Payment may be made via the website.
We also offer to feature newsworthy articles from local businesses.
Maybe you are expanding your range, moving to a different area, have
vacancies in your classes or maybe you would like to offer potential
clients some valuable advice in your area of expertise. In which case we
would like to hear from you.
- The copy should be entirely your own work and around 500 words in
length.
- You may include three pictures, which we may choose to display.
Please ensure you own the copyright to these images and have the
necessary parental permission, where applicable, to use in publicity
material.
- Your business details will be
displayed underneath the article, together with contact details
and your website link.
- Your article's link will feature on the most relevant Section of
the Oracle.
- The article will remain on our website for as long as we feel
it to be relevant, but at least one month.
Cost: Normally £30 one-off fee; Special Limited offer: £15
When submitting your article you must state that you are the copyright
holder of the text and pictures, and that for any images featuring
children you have written permission, from the parent or guardian of the
individuals, to use their image in publicity material on the internet, and that you give full permission for The
Gloucestershire Oracle to publish the article/images on our website, or to
include extracts from it in other works (for example, but not limited to, a
newsletter).
We reserve the right to edit the copy or refuse
publication for whatever reason.
