We are an independent, family run business, who were born and have lived in Gloucestershire all our lives.

The Gloucestershire Oracle was set up in 2005, after trying unsuccessfully to find swimming lessons in our area! At that time very few small businesses had an online presence, those that did were still difficult to find; we found directory sites of little use, as despite claiming to be local, they were not! The knowledge of where to go for classes had to be gleaned from the playground grapevine. So the idea of “sharing Gloucestershire’s local knowledge” was born!

Our ethos is to provide families in Gloucestershire with an informative, attractive and easy to navigate site, featuring genuinely local businesses.

We offer relevant Gloucestershire businesses and organisations the opportunity to advertise free of charge with an enhanced listing that many other local directory sites make a charge for! All entries are listed in alphabetical order within each category as we believe this makes it easy for our visitors to find what they are looking for.
