Did You Know?

Robinswood Hill was previously called Matson Hill or Knoll, assuming the name of the Robins family which held land there from the early 16th century. The summit was the site of a beacon by 1553 and a small house was built nearby in 1588, for watchmen waiting to signal the approach of the Spanish Armada.
