County Youth Company 2011 Auditions

Gloucestershire Dance is holding its annual auditions for their County Youth Companies:

GD:Youth is a contemporary dance company
GD:Urban is for those interested in urban dance, and
GD:Inc is an integrated dance company open to both disabled and non disabled dancers.

Being a member of a County Youth Dance Company gives young dancers some fantastic opportunities to work with renowned artists and choreographers, as well as having the chance to work on their own choreographic skills and creative development. They will have opportunities to perform their work as well being able to watch some inspiring dance companies in action.

We are looking for those who:

may have trained in one style (e.g. creative or break dance) and want to learn more about different dance styles;
want a career in dance, whether in leadership, teaching or performance;
are potential choreographers;
have shown potential at school, community or youth club dance sessions, but have no formal dance training.

This year’s auditions for 11 to 21 year olds, are being held at City Works in Gloucester on Sunday 2 October 2011. It costs £6 to enter the auditions.
